Thana Alexa

Thana Alexa is a vocalist and composer who works almost entirely on her own terms. She is independent, unaffiliated with a major label, and has built a career on the road, touring internationally on the strength of her live shows.

She was nominated for a Grammy, recognition for a body of work that treats the human voice as an instrument in the fullest sense. Alexa is known for her use of live looping and vocal effects, building layered soundscapes in real time, and for wordless improvisation, singing lines that carry the weight of language without needing any words at all.
